The Surface Book reveals Microsoft's innovative strengths and brings to the fore a cu...

It wasn’t long ago that Microsoft started making tablets called the Surface Pro series. Though it got excellent reviews from the critics, it wasn’t the promise that would make you dump your laptop in favor of it. We have seen 4 different iterations of the Surface Pro. Luckily Microsoft has now perfected a hybrid formula, by introducing the latest Surface Pro which might replace your laptop.

After years of convincing the public to choose the Surface Pro over other products, the tech giant has introduced a revolutionary computer product dubbed the "Ultimate Laptop”.  The Surface Book packs some nice and important features which many of the top OEMs are missing. Microsoft calls it a laptop, but it looks more like a tablet or a notebook.

Specifications

The screen size of the Surface Book is 13.5 inches. It weighs 3.34 pounds with a pixel display of 3000 by 2000 high-resolution. Depending on the laptop, it can pack either 8GB or 16GB RAM in it. It also has Intel’s 6th gen processor in it, and you can opt for either core i5 or core i7. The more expensive one also has the Nvidia Graphics card, a plus for the gamers and the video editors. Another cool feature it has is the availability of 2 batteries in it. One in the lower section and the other on the screen side of the Surface Book. Microsoft has said it would last over 12 hours on battery.

Design

This might be the most beautiful laptop on the market. The build quality of the surface book is also top-notch and quite sturdy. The laptop is mostly made from the two milled solid blocks of magnesium. Every aspect of the laptop is one flat surface of a metal, whether it is the keyboard or the palm rest or the laptop's hinges.

There are some very revolutionary features on the laptop. The touchpad of the Surface Book is manufactured from glass, which makes it extra efficient to work on. But the true revolution that came is on its hinges and how the laptop could be detached like a hybrid. Though the weight and size of the Surface Book seem incredible, the conversion from laptop to tablet is the most seamless thing we have seen in a very long time. Microsoft has called it a “Dynamic Fulcrum” hinge. No other gadget has anything like that, and it is a good thing.

Accessories and value for the Surface Book

Just like the pen previously attached with the Surface Pro, few accessories come packed with this iteration. Microsoft has done enough to improve the already amazing pen to the level that it almost eliminated the previous pen flaws.

So if you are on the lookout for a laptop on the market, the Microsoft Surface Book could be on your shortlist. If you want a laptop with a stunning display, sturdy design, and a futuristic feel to it, complemented with the flagship specs, it would be your top choice. But the price tag is way too high for the features you will get. The Surface Book sells in shops like Fry’s Electronics and Newegg.com at $1,499.00. If you can spare the amazing design and display and only want the top-tier specs, then there are many other options you can look out for in the electronic market.
