Microsoft Corporation stands the test of time
Microsoft Corporation embraces a world of computer technology and continues to show strength with new innovations.
Microsoft Corporation paved the way for computer technology success in an era when few companies understood the sciences related to advanced computer technology. Bill Gates and his longtime pal, Paul Allen, founded Microsoft in 1975.
They cleverly crafted the brand name Microsoft, merging the two most important elements in the company's business model. The founders merged microcomputer and software to create the business name Microsoft.
The path of Windows operating system
Bill Gates, in his early years at school, was a clever student, and he was specifically extraordinary in science and mathematics. After being acquainted with computers in 1968, he studied and became a genius in programming. In the early days of their education, he and his friend Paul skipped classes to go to the computer lab to familiarize themselves more with computers. The first thing they sought to study was how to find the loopholes in computer operating systems to improve them.
They both knew they were good at what they were doing and were waiting for the right time to start a new name in the world of computing. They had a meeting with various computing giants and in 1975, they finally got what they wished. The birth of Microsoft Corporation that would stand the test of time.
The DOS factor of Microsoft Corporation
But at the beginning of their business, they didn’t plunge to making their own products. Rather, the company designed and programmed software products for various independent computer companies, like Altair and IBM.
IBM launched their first line of personal computers to the market, which was a tremendous success. Good news, Paul and Allen developed the operating system in these lines of PCs. The Disk Operating System (DOS), became the cornerstone for the company’s most famous product, “Windows”.
The pathway for Windows
After the success of Microsoft Disk Operating System (MS-DOS), Microsoft Corporation understood what they were up against, so in 1983, they introduced the next iteration for the DOS and named it MSX, which is a standardized home computer architecture. This is visually almost like DOS, but with many more features.
To show its superiority over competing businesses, Microsoft Corporation introduced another OS. This has become the most used OS in the world today, and that is the Windows operating system.
We have seen over 10 iterations of Windows and from the looks of it, there is no stopping Microsoft Corporation. The success of Windows has made Bill Gates the richest man in the world.
The recipe for Microsoft’s success
According to Bill Gates, the most important thing for the success of Microsoft Corporation is that they always design their products by keeping in mind opinions of the average person and the consumer that is going to use their products, as they are the biggest critics.
It is wide knowledge Microsoft Corporation is one of the most inventive company in the tech business and is always coming up with something new. Rewardingly, Microsoft scored the highest during a survey to the see the dedication of employees of most tech companies.
Microsoft Corporation has their share of failures from the Windows exploration, but according to Bill Gates, “It is fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failures.”
