She didn’t have a privileged childhood or family life like many. Marilyn Tam grew up neglected and abused in Hong Kong city. But her confidence and high-spirited life didn’t allow her to give up. She left her home as a teen to get an education in the United States of America. She changed the course of her life to get success on her own terms.

Success tips from Marilyn Tam

Marilyn Tam once said, “All of us have a specific purpose in life. When we live for that specific reason, it helps us endure even the unbearable.” She is a fantastic thinker and an innovative strategy builder. Marilyn Tam believes life has already provided us with the tools to get what we want. Most times, we don’t understand and identify them.

"To succeed in life, try not to choose the safest path always. It’s not wrong to make mistakes if you can learn to listen to your heart's call and ignore fear," she says.

Successful people are not different from us

People recognize Marilyn Tam as a survivor. She thinks possibilities out of her experiences. She believes successful people do not differ from us, but they know how to get over the daunting odds of life and keep moving.

Acknowledge fear but have faith in yourself

You can’t succeed if you keep on fearing the unknown or overthink the failures. Acknowledge fear, but do not let it dominate you. When you’re hesitant about a decision, map all outcomes in your mind and think of suitable strategies and action steps to handle the situations.

You should learn from the setbacks and failures. All failures and rejections in life are temporary. But you need to learn and identify what doesn’t work and then move to the next.

Have faith in yourself and believe you deserve the best. Never think that you’re not good enough to achieve your dreams. It’s always good to get advice from experts with experience and good business philosophies. You’ll learn how to handle the odds or bad times.

Give everything you’ve got to your dreams

If you’re in love with your dream, harness your physical energy, mind, and spiritual strength and give them all to it. Get support from family, friends, vendors, business associates, or the community network if they can help. You don’t have to do everything on your own.

Listen to your heart, passion, and intuitions. They can guide you and help you make better decisions.

Marilyn Tam, our top executive, says we shouldn’t live in regrets for past failures or become anxious about the future. We should only concentrate on the present because we can only change and improve what is at hand.
